Rare quad headlamp Jaguar E-Type

This super rare and historically important 1966 Jaguar Series 1 4.2 Coupe E-Type made its way to Blackline HQ back in August 2020 for some minor paint work. With its aristocratic Scottish connections, it was built to special order of the Sixth Earl of Cawdor with modified ‘quad headlamp/shark gill’ bonnet by Abbey Panels, Koni shock absorbers, competition wire wheels and Restall seats. This was one of only three quad light E-Types ever built.Unfortunately, the Lord Cawdor was not a competent driver and crashed and nearly killed himself in 1967 en route between Scotland and his estate in Wales. The crash was so severe that he was ejected through the sunroof. The Jaguar was then transported back to Scotland and laid to rest in a shed where it remained until finally rescued by a vendor some 15-20 years ago.The car had rolled and was in a very bad way. Rust had formed from the floor up; the bonnet was crumpled, and tread removed completely from one rear wheel, but with a lot of patience and two years of hard work it was brought back to life. The headlamp design was certainly an interesting topic of conversation along with its history.
